If you focus on stuff, you will never get organised
The hardest part about downsizing is deciding which of your treasured items to keep. Decluttering and downsizing is hard, make no mistake. You have so many beautiful memories attached to your items, the drawers and cupboards are full of them. There are items that have never been used, some that have rarely been used, and others that have passed their use by date. The core part of downsizing is to declutter, so you are going to have to get tough with your decision making.
Downsizing effectively comes down to time and thoughtful consideration. If you’re short on time or leave things to the last minute, mistakes can be made. You could end up taking too much stuff with you to your new destination, or, give away items you wished you had of kept. If you know space is going to be at a premium, be realistic about what items will fit comfortably in your new home.
I will support you with any overwhelm you may feel when faced with letting go of emotional attachments you have toward your things. I have the ability to listen carefully to your concerns and be truly invested in helping with your choices. Let me offer you an outside perspective! Deciding what you really need requires you to look at how you live your daily life. Make room for the items you actually use and need, then let go of the rest. The saying ‘Everything has a place and everything in its place’ really does ring true when living in a smaller house with limited storage.
Create a life for what really matters! De-cluttering and downsizing can be a challenge, but living with less means more time for you. It will be worth it in the end!
